What is Server Support and why should I choose it?
As soon as the demands of your business dictate that you need to add one or more servers into the business IT infrastructure, then your IT support requirement also moves up a notch.
More often than not, servers form the hub of an IT infrastructure and as such are business critical. In other words, if the server goes down for any reason, the business is put on hold - suspended animation - until the server is working properly again. This has all sorts of customer service and cost implications for the business. Servers therefore need to be looked after more attentively than the average pc.
However, by their very nature, servers work differently from standard desktop pcs. Not only is their system architecture different but so is the operating and application software. Then there is the question of backing up the data stored on the server. Most of this is well beyond the scope of the average user of a desktop pc in terms of configuration and fault finding and so specialist IT skills are required at this point.
Because of the business critical nature of a server, ad hoc problem solving is not a cost effective of managing a server. Far better to take a strategic view and protect the overall operation of the business and opt for contracted support that is pro-active - anticipating and dealing with problems, nipping them in the bud before they become business show stoppers.
E-mpower IT engineers are server specialists and have a huge amount of experience with a variety of Microsoft software in common use in small business environments.

What is included with Server Support?
The E-mpower.IT Server Support service offers 24 x7 monitoring of each server using advanced software that alerts an engineer (during business hours) the minute a problem manifests itself
E-mpower.IT engineers will also remotely access the server on a daily basis to check such things as log files, firewalls to prevent intruders, the anti-virus is working properly, data back-ups have been executed amongst others.
In addition to the formal part of the service, we are always on hand to answer your server related questions and any other general IT queries (on a best endeavours basis) that may arise. After all, this is what you would expect from your own IT department if it were based in your office, so that's what you get from E-mpower.IT, your outsourced IT department

How do you charge for Server Support?
To ensure you only pay for the IT support you need, our charges are based on a 'per unit' basis, with a sliding scale discount structure based on the number of servers covered.
Our customers tell us we are not the cheapest provider, but our Absolute Service is second to none, and on the basis that you get what you pay for, we represent excellent value for money.
Whilst most problems can be solved through one of our engineers 'dialing in' remotely, there may be times when there is no alternative but to make an on-site visit. If an engineer is required onsite then we invoice actual time spent on site as well as additional time (up to a maximum of 1 hour) to cover travel and administration costs.
